Dirk Dixon

Although Dirk’s well acquainted and experienced in many tax and financial advisory issues, there are a few particulars that set him apart from his competitors. He is an Enrolled Agent (EA) with the Internal Revenue Service and an Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®).

After making the Deans’ List every semester at Grand View College, he graduated in 1997 with a Bachelors of Business Administration. He began working that same year at Farm Bureau Financial and later at New England Financial before arriving to LPL Financial.   He holds the FINRA 6,63 and 65 registrations with LPL Financial and is an Investment Advisor Representative operating under the Registered Investment Advisor of LPL Financial.  During this time and through his work with Baker & Associates, LLP, he received much recognition for his work including membership with the Iowa Society of Licensed Public Accountants and the National Association of Enrolled Agents. What the heck is an Enrolled Agent and why should you care?  Enrolled Agents are the only tax professionals who get their license to practice directly from the IRS and the United States Treasury.  Their continuing education must be 100% in taxation and the ethics of taxation.

Dirk has written financial advisory articles in publications like “The Register” and also volunteers with the State of Iowa at the Low Income Taxpayer Clinics to help taxpayers involved in controversies with the IRS or educating individuals about their tax rights and responsibilities. Dirk also has presented educational tax seminars to The Iowa Chiropractic Society, Des Moines’s Northwest Senior Center, Two Rivers Real Estate Investors Group, Urbandale Senior Center, Clive Chamber of Commerce, Carlisle Chamber of Commerce, New Iowa Entrepreneurs Coalition, Iowa Biz Group, ReMAX Real Estate Agents Group, SCORE (Small Business Mentoring and Training), and the West Des Moines Senior Center.

However, he feels his greatest achievement is his family. After coming from a loving and supportive home he shared with his parents, who instilled a sense of honesty and integrity, he’s created his own family. He lives with his wife, Jodi, and their two daughters, Cassidy and Calista in West Des Moines and credits their unwavering support as one of the greatest keys to his success.
